On behalf of our client, we are searching for a AWS - Big Data Architect

As the world-leading connected health company, leveraging big data to derive actionable insights in support of better clinical outcomes for patients and business outcomes for our partners is a critical component of our core strategy. The Advanced Analytics team is responsible for leading the way in executing on this promise. This position will partner with the data engineering team and data science and analyst teams to build the systems and capabilities to discover these insights and deliver them in impactful ways.

You have a deep understanding of a wide-variety of big data tools and technologies which you can combine with desired business outcomes to create compelling architectures. You are comfortable presenting your ideas to all levels of management and technical and non-technical audiences as well as guiding engineering teams in their implementation.

Let’s talk about responsibilities:

Work with key stakeholders to understand desired business and clinical outcomes and communicate impactful solutions leveraging the most relevant tools and technologies

Demonstrate thought leadership on emerging data architecture, advanced analytics, data privacy and security and become a trusted advisor to decision-makers

Provide Proof of Concepts (POCs) for assessment of technology/business benefit

Work directly with data engineers to implement solutions efficiently, effectively and sustainably

Provide technical mentoring and coaching of other team members

Let’s talk Qualifications and Experience:

While we realize you might not have everything on the list to be the successful candidate for the Big Data Architect job you will likely have at least 10 years’ experience in a variety of positions in IT and specialized knowledge and experience in the below. We are an agile environment and believe in starting from best practice, trying new things, failing fast and pivoting as we go.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to evangelize solutions and generate enthusiasm and commitment.

Bachelor/Engineering degree in IT / Computer Science/ software engineering or relevant field

Experience working in the AWS ecosystem (Redshift, RDS, EMR, Kinesis, S3, Glue, DMS, Athena, EC2, Lambda, etc.)

Exposure to Hadoop Ecosystem preferably on AWS/EMR, NoSQL-based, SQL-like technologies such as (Hive, Pig, HDFS, Impala)

Experience deploying data pipelines with CI/CD

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional level

Experience implementing predictive models in production (including CI/CD and retraining)

Experience with streaming analytics (Kinesis/Kafka) is a plus

Experience in the healthcare/regulated (HIPAA, GDPR) space is a plus

Experience working with complex Data Warehouses
